Over 50,000 views within the first two weeks
The Living Torah app launched by JEM earlier this month has been installed on over 6,000 devices, and over 50,000 videos have been viewed within its first two weeks, with the average viewing time well over a minute, that works out to more than one month of continuous viewing.
The app is available in the Apple and Android app stores and is compatible with the iPhone, iPad and Android devices, populated with hundreds of clips, it is updated with the weekly Living Torah program, the app also updates regularly with fresh content to current events.

Living Torah App Launches with 48-hour window
JEM has announced the launch of its much anticipated Living Torah app. In honor of the launch, JEM is making a special offer to its first “early adopters” – those who become members by Tuesday 27 Iyar 12pm – a guarantee of their low introductory price for one full year. The app, which boasts the current Living Torah program as well as over 2,000 videos of the Rebbe searchable by multiple tags and indexes, is now available in Apple app store with both Iphone and Ipad versions, and in the Android store with both smartphone and tablet versions.

A Diary – Lag B’omer Parade 5743-1983
The Lag B’omer Parade of 1983 was going to be extra special. A beautiful regal platform was built for the Rebbe. On his side was a smaller platform for Rabbi JJ Hecht and Rabbi “Uncle” Yossi Goldstein who would emcee the program, and Eli Lipskier’s band.
The parade would be marching, as usual, down Eastern Parkway past 770 and in front of the Rebbe, and for the first time this year, the parade would continue all the way to Empire Boulevard for the fair and carnival.

Anticipation building for new app. JEM Shares New Details
For the past several weeks, JEM has been posting videos and a website promoting and its soon-to-come Living Torah app. Today, JEM’s director, Rabbi Elkanah Shmotkin, sent an email to all Living Torah subscribers, outlining the rollout schedule, and revealing that current Living Torah subscribers will be receiving a two-week pass providing “full access to the over 2,000 videos in the app.”

The Story of Here’s My Story
It began one Shabbos last winter, when members of the Union Street Shteibel in Crown Heights were treated to a story of the Rebbe at their weekly Kiddush.

Finally bringing to light a monumental project begun by Rabbi Boruch Oberlander of Budapest, Hungary, over ten years ago, the first glimpse of a new book on the Rebbe’s life, The Rebbe’s Early Years, the life of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, from birth until his arrival in the United States in 1941, was released tonight at the International Conference of Shluchim.

Webcast of 11 Nissan 1982 Begins
The 11 Nissan farbrengen of 1982 marked the occasion of the Rebbe's 80th birthday. At that farbrengen, the Rebbe addressed the question of retirement that some people had posed to him by revealing the secret to actually growing stronger with age. After four hours of talks in which he expounded on topics including the importance of "The Moment of Silence," a lesson in time management from the Counting of the Omer, and the need to provide shmurah matzah and holiday needs to all Jews, the Rebbe then personally distributed a copy of a new printing of Tanya to each and every man and woman in attendance. The Rebbe finished handing out Tanyas at 6:15 AM.

Vintage Satellite Footage Promotes Web Event
To promote the upcoming webcast of the Rebbe's 80th birthday Farbrengen on Jewish.TV, producers at JEM have partnered with Chabad.org to release vintage footage of the original video introduction to the 1982 satellite feed of the farbrengen. The introduction to "Celebration 80" features famous Broadway producer, Joe Papp, who became a major Chabad supporter after once seeing the Rebbe on a satellite hook-up of a farbrengen.

'Music Notes,' - a collage of newly-recorded Chassidic Nigunim accompanied by still photographs from Jewish Educational Media's vast photo archive will be a once-monthly segment. The name derives from the clip's unique format: The photos are accompanied by 'notes' - information on the Nigun, photos, or background of the scene.

Montreal’s Beis Rivkah Girls are Filmmakers!
Several classes of Beis Rivkah in Montreal got to participate in a remarkable program on the Rebbe’s history.

New Transfer Method Proves Itself!
This is an exciting one. We just got back a transfer of the earliest (almost) full Farbrengen recorded on video – Yud Shevat, 5731 – 1971.
The video was restored ten years ago, but now we retransferred it with DC Video in Los Angeles.

On Monday, the My Encounter with the Rebbe interview team arrived in Montreal and has already captured the testimony of 5 individuals. The rigorous interview schedule includes 25 interviews to be conducted by two experienced interviewers over a 10-day period.

Yud Shvat Farbrengen--A Taste of the Rebbe's Sichos
Yud Shvat is one of the most important days in modern Chabad history. Actually, it's one of the most important days in modern Jewish history, as it was both the date that the previous Rebbe passed away, and the date that Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson accepted leadership of the Chabad Lubavitch movement one year later. Since then, his outreach has touched the lives of so many Jews and non-Jews.
