One year ago, when JEM released the video “A Glimpse Through the Veil,” it quickly became the fastest-selling of JEM’s My Encounter with the Rebbe videos. A year later, a series of eight stories of the Rebbe are delivered in volume 2. This set of stories, several of which include the actual footage of exchanges with the Rebbe and documents pointing to the facts of the case, includes many types of glimpses. The older couple who were secretly hoping for an additional child, the rabbi who was suddenly having inner doubts about his calling in life, and the British government’s most closely guarded secrets, which were somehow known in Brooklyn.
The film was directed by Rabbi Yechiel Cagen, who is also director of the My Encounter with the Rebbe project. He explains that while the process of tracking down documentation supporting the account, as well as videos and photos of the Rebbe connected with these incidents, took many long months, the results are well worth-it. “These are not one-dimensional stories.” Every story comes to life. The testimony, the documents, the footage. They all combine to tell a complete story.”
Coming in time for the Kinus Hashluchim.
