Living Torah, the popular DVD series, will be getting a makeover.
Jewish Educational Media, the Brooklyn-based non-profit organization which produces the collection, today unveiled the streamlined and simplified interface.
According to Max Kovalsky, the designer and programmer of the new interface, “The new DVD will make it faster and easier to launch the DVD, find the clip that you’re looking for, and set your favorite options.” According to Kovalsky, some people had a difficult time finding favorite features such as the children’s narration. The new interface consolidates many of the features onto fewer screens, eliminating about eight different menu screens.
Due to Kovalsky’s expert programming, the authoring code which makes the DVD function is also much cleaner, resulting in a quicker and smoother response from the DVD player to the viewers orders and prompts.
This announcement comes on the heels of a number of planned improvements for the widely-watched program.
Dubbed The Living Torah Total Access Navigation System, the new interface will begin to feature starting from Disc 25.
